Programme Associate and Contestant Research
Mickey Brennan, Programme Associate on Bullseye, Family Fortunes, Blockbuster and The Price Is Right. Mickey was responsible for selecting the contestant to be on Bullseye. The hopeful contestants had to show their skills as a dart player and their partner was asked 20 questions on a wide range of topics. The most unpopular question at the interview was the spelling question.
Of all the shows I worked on over the years, Bullseye was by far and away my favourite show. It was special. I remember asking a would-be contestant on the show, a soldier how to spell the word, Ecstasy. He looked horrified and said, O…Aitch…S…Aitch…I…T. All the people in the room burst out laughing. He was selected to appear on the show because his general knowledge was very good and he was a fun person.
We had over 25, 000 pairs of contestants applying to appear on the show such was the shows popularity. Unfortunately, I could not get around to see them all.
